Tessitrice e arazziera, nelle sue opere perfeziona e destruttura tecniche tradizionali ponendo al centro la relazione tra gesto tecnico e gesto consapevole.
L’insegnamento della tessitura come trasmissione di sapere collettivo incarnato è perno della sua ricerca. Espone in XS progetto internazionale dedicato alla fiber art contemporanea curato da Barbara Pavan per la BAF, JEMA curate da IMNA e al Salone dell’Alto Artigianato di Venezia.
Con l’ass. Tessiture Sociali, organizza Tessil’arte, festival nazionale delle arti tessili e della cultura del fatto a mano con cura.
A weaver and tapestry maker, in her work she refines and deconstructs traditional techniques, placing the relationship between technical gesture and conscious gesture at the center. Teaching weaving as a means of transmitting embodied collective knowledge is the cornerstone of her research. She has exhibited at XS, an international project dedicated to contemporary fiber art curated by Barbara Pavan for BAF, JEMA curated by IMNA, and at the Salone dell’Alto Artigianato in Venice. With her ass. Tessiture Sociali, she organises Tessil’arte, a national festival of textile arts and the culture of carefully crafted handmade products.

Oltre la soglia, ritmi sospesi e memorie slegate
Roberta Denni – che ha scelto Bracciano come dimora – usa la tessitura dei tappeti boucherouite per radicarsi e abitare. Non celebra gli eroi, ma il quotidiano: i vicini, le presenze silenziose, i legami strampalati. Raccoglie tessuti delle persone che abitano i luoghi del BAW e li unisce nodo dopo nodo, determinando il racconto. Il tappeto, con i suoi tessuti usati e i nodi morbidi, celebra irregolarità e asimmetria. Ogni frammento porta tracce e ricordi: un archivio tattile e affettivo.

Roberta Denni—who has chosen Bracciano as her home—uses boucherouite carpet weaving to root herself and dwell. She celebrates not heroes, but everyday life: neighbors, silent presences, bizarre connections. She collects textiles from the people who inhabit the BAW spaces and joins them knot by knot, shaping the narrative. The carpet, with its used fabrics and soft knots, celebrates irregularity and asymmetry. Each fragment carries traces and memories: a tactile and emotional archive.
