Maria Carla Mancinelli

Maria Carla Mancinelli è pittrice e scultrice. La sua tecnica è contraddistinta da una sperimentazione continua di materiali, carta, stoffa, bitume, ferro, cere, polvere di marmo e cemento. Ha partecipato a fiere d’arte, mostre personali e collettive in Italia e all’estero. Nel 2017 ha costituito, insieme ad altri artisti, il Gruppo Coala, Collettivo Artisti del Lago, pittori e scultori legati da un comune sentire, che operano e lavorano sulle terre intorno al lago di Bracciano.

Maria Carla Mancinelli is a painter and sculptor. Her technique is distinguished by a continuous experimentation with materials, paper, textile, bitumen, iron, waxes, marble dust and cement. She has taken part in art fairs, solo exhibitions, and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. In 2017, she and other artists founded the Gruppo Coala, Collective Artists of the Lake, a group of painters and sculptors united by a common vision who work in the lands around Lake Bracciano.

Lamento delle radici
In questo intreccio di forme serrate, la famiglia si rivela nella sua natura più ambivalente: protezione ma anche perimetro, confine, limite. È il lamento di chi ama ma si sente soffocare dai legami. Ma in queste radici che si stringono l’una all’altra c’è anche il grido silenzioso di chi è stato strappato alla propria terra, di chi ha visto le proprie origini recise e cerca di ricostruire un senso di appartenenza. Le radici vibrano di una tensione che è, insieme, amore e prigionia.

In this intertwining of tightly woven forms, family reveals its most ambivalent nature: protection but also perimeter, boundary, and limit. It is the lament of those who love but feel suffocated by their bonds. However, in these roots that cling to one another, there is also the silent cry of those torn from their homeland, of those who have seen their origins severed, and who seek to rebuild a sense of belonging. The roots vibrate with a tension that is, at once, love and imprisonment.
