Leena Knuuttila

Leena Knuuttila (Finlandia, 1958) è un’artista e guida abilitata a Roma e Vaticano. Ha una formazione accademica presso l’Università di Uppsala. La sua arte, spesso semi-astratta, varia fra pittura, scultura e ceramica. Le sue opere evocano la natura, reperti e forme frammentate, creando atmosfere suggestive. Leena ha esposto in Finlandia, Italia, e Regno Unito e ha partecipato ai programmi di residenza in India e Helsinki.

Leena Knuuttila (Finland, 1958) is an artist and guide, based in Rome and the Vatican. Studying at the University of Uppsala, her art, often semi-abstract, ranges from painting, sculpture and ceramics. Her works evoke nature, finds and fragmented forms, creating evocative atmospheres.
Leena has exhibited in Finland, Italy and the UK and has participated in residency programs in India and Helsinki.

Venus
Leena, con pennellate decise, racconta su pezze di lino grezzo una Venere. Non è la rappresentazione di una dea lontana, ma una presenza terrena, una donna definita e imprigionata dalle proprie scelte d’amore. Venere non è più oggetto di contemplazione ma soggetto di una ricerca: quella, fragile e necessaria riconquista dell’amore per se stessa. La pittura restituisce con forza la fatica del riconoscersi degne del proprio amore.

Venus
Leena, with bold brushstrokes, tells the story of Venus on pieces of raw linen. She is not the representation of a distant goddess, but an earthly presenc, a woman defined and imprisoned by her own choices of love. Venus is no longer an object of contemplation, but the subject of a research: the fragile and necessary reconquest of self-love. The painting forcefully conveys the struggle in recognising oneself worthy of one’s own love.
