Enrico Bertorotta, scultore e pittore romano, utilizza diverse tecniche artistiche, spaziando dalla grafica alla pittura a olio, alla scultura in legno e su pietra. Sempre alla ricerca di una Forma che si avvicina all’archetipo, quasi un simbolo, una rappresentazione dell’idea, utilizza materiali come pietre trovate ai bordi di fiumi o sulla riva del mare, legni lasciati sulla spiaggia, ferri abbandonati, ridando una seconda vita a cose e oggetti ormai “morti”.
Enrico Bertorotta, roman sculpture and painter, makes use of diverse artistic techniques, ranging from graphic design to oil painting, wood and stones sculpting. Constantly seeking for a Form that resembles the archetype, almost as a symbol or representation of an idea, he utilises materials such as stones found on riverbanks or sea shores, driftwood left on beaches or abandoned iron scraps to give a second life to objects considered to now be ‘dead’.

Atena, dea greca della conoscenza ma anche della guerra, ama e protegge il Sapere come fonte della libertà individuale. Dall’intelletto scaturisce la libertà dell’essere umano che per mezzo della conoscenza può sviluppare l’amore verso i propri simili, perché libero dai preconcetti e dai falsi miti e ideologie. La Libertà è dunque frutto dell’Amore, ma l’Amore non sempre si manifesta con la Libertà. Atena vuole simboleggiare questo dualismo: da una parte una dea “madre” che allatta coloro che si nutrono di conoscenza, dall’altra, una dea “guerriera” che, con le armi alzate, è pronta a proteggere chi con l’Amore per la Verità ama la Libertà.

Atena, Greek goddess of wisdom but also of war, loves and protects Knowledge as a source of individual freedom. From the intellect springs the freedom of the human being, who, through knowledge, can develop love for his fellow man, free from preconceptions and false myths and ideologies. Freedom is therefore the fruit of Love, but Love does not always manifest itself as Freedom. Atena symbolises this duality; on one hand, a ‘mother’ nursing those who feed of of her knowledge; on the other, a ‘warrior’ goddess who, with raised arms, is ready to protect those who, with their Love of Truth, love Freedom.
