Les Fleurs
Les fleurs is a performance that arises from the dialogue between sound and light; both are two "ethereal" forms, two physical elements that exist only when, in wave form, and each according to its nature, they pass through space vibrating in the air. Each expands, creating its own form. These ethereal forms, made only of breath and light, plow through the air, traverse space, transform, intersect, create images, figures, colors, emotions.
The technology of Les Fleurs is an interactive projection where sound transforms the image in real time. The vibrations of sounds are transformed through the artist's interpretation into an immense multiform picture, changing as it comes to life on the facade of the Collegiate Church of St. Stephen. Two premiere works are dedicated to this Performance for the artistic duo Claudio Marani-MonicaLimongelli: Voyage of Life by Marco Valerio Ciliberti and Pristina by Giovanni Scapecchi.
THE VOYAGE OF LIFE takes inspiration from the eponymous cycle of paintings by American painter Thomas Cole, an exponent and founder of the Hudson River School. Although it is about a journey, this piece does not describe places or adventures of any kind. The voyage of life, the one that unites everyone, is an inner experience, a succession of emotions, the evolution of the individual and his passage through the various stages that make up his growth as a human being.
PRISTINA, for solo flute, is a journey through symbols and mysteries woven into the figure of the rose, emblem of esoteric knowledge and alchemical transformation. Between suspended and intensely expressive gestures, the work moves between mystical visions and inner suggestions, evoking the arcane power of a flower that holds, more than any other, the essence of the ephemeral and at the same time the eternal.
"Stat rosa pristina nomine, nomina nuda tenemus." - The primal rose exists only in name; we possess only naked names.
Like a fragment of concealed truth, the diegesis is revealed in an intimate ritual, in which the breath of the flute shapes space and time, weaving a delicate web that unfolds between past and present, visible and invisible.
