Jaana Lönnroos

Jaana Lönnroos (Finland,1960) is an artist who found inspiration for her work in Italy. Her theme is memory/memories and nostalgia, not only as a feeling but as a cultural phenomenon. She is interested in questions of temporality and memory as a mode of philosophical inquiry. Her work is based on photography. Taking a photo initiates a process of interaction between physical and metaphysical, personal and cultural landscapes. Using different techniques, she aims to create multilayered narratives from different times and places.
